ABOUT THE ZOO TV FLY SHADES

1.- Now that I know Bono wore two different styles of the Fly shades,
"1992 style" for the Zoo Tv tour and "1993 style" for Zooropa Tour...
Are these glasses that you are selling
on this website (1992 & 1993 version)
for real?

They are FAITHFUL
REPRODUCTIONS OF THE ORIGINAL SHADES; we called them "Viking 1973". |
2.- What colours will be available on sale for the FLY shades?

Answer:
We sell both models in different dark colours (Brown, Green,
Black, Blue). |

3.- What colour/s Bono wore for his fly shades when he still was on tour, during 1992 &1993? |
Answer: He wore dark brown fly shades for the 1992 style and very dark green for the 1993, since it was a different fly shades model. |
4.- Do both styles have UV protection? |
Answer:
Yes
they have 100% UV protection. |
5.- What exactly do you mean when you say they're 'the fly shades'? |
Answer:
Original models are a high rarity.
Now I am proud to create and design a mirror image copy, but
with updated features as a homage to the original design, but a tribute
to the future and preservation of the fly shades.
Now we're in the process of making
molds for the 1993 fly shades style Bono wore as 'the fly', using 3D technology; inspired by the original fly sunglasses Bono
wore during 1993.

6.- Are both models (1992 & 1993) really differents? Also, do they fit the same? |
Answer: Yes they are different. 1992 style are "smaller" and more oval lenses than 1993 style, which have lenses more rounded. Also, 1993 fly shades are huge, so they do not fit the same. One thing in common between them, both styles are big sunglasses anyway. |
7.- Are these FLY sunglasses also made of plastic? How about their quality? |
Answer: Many known brand sunglasses are being made, even today, in either CR-39 & Polycarbonate plastic resin. These fly mirror image copy sunglasses are being made in polycarbonate, so they are a fine update, very resistent and they are improved in strength, with UV protection. Just one thing about 'one piece' polycarbonate lenses, augmented vision of things is part of its properties, so its normal. Also, they're all single piece plastic glasses and as originals, wearing time should be limited. All in all, they are perfect replicas, they respect 100% originals beautiful design! About the improvements we've made... Really, the original FLY glasses weren't very comfortable, they broke easily, waviness on lenses and 1980's UV technology. Now new replicas have a revised nose bridge (more strong). We've made them more comfortable to wear. Also, We are using more flexible and durable modern plastic with new UV coatings. |
8.- How much for a replica? |
Answer: € 65 each pair + Shipping Costs. |
9.- How can I buy the fly shades? |
Answer: Actually, you can purchase them now via Debit / Credit Cards. If you want to ask for other method of payments, such as wire transfer or money orders, please send us an email first. |
10.- About shipping costs... Any delivery options? |
Answer: Every pair is sent very well packaged, so very well protected. Normally, it takes between 5 to 15 business days for packages to arrive to any destination, worldwide. |
